FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a photo slide show?
Our photo slide show presents photos/video clips or scanned memorabilia on screen one after another, edited, with appropriate transitions accompanied by music and titles.

How long will each photo be on screen?
On average each photo will be on screen 6-7 seconds. We allow more time for group shots as we often pan or zoom so everyone can be seen.

How do I choose the order of photos?
Most slide shows are organised chronologically or by topics or as themes. However, the choice of order is yours.

How long should my photo show be?
The length of the slide show can depend on the occasion you are showing it at. At a party with an audience we suggest around 12 minutes (about 100 photos). For a funeral service an average of 6 minutes (about 50 photos).
However if you are creating a gift for a loved one, or compiling a show that will record the history of a family or organisation they can be as long as you like.

How do I label the photos to indicate the order?
We find a small stick-it note on back of photo does the job well. You can also place them in order.

How do I choose my music?
Selecting music for your DVD is fun. It is often a favourite piece of music or a song with meaningful words.
The music sets the mood for the slideshow and holds your audience's attention and often brings laughter or tears.

How much music do I need?
On average for a 50 photo slide show 2 or 3 songs depending on the length of the music.

Can I use titles or captions?
Yes, both are great for helping your audience follow your show, or to say a special message or greeting.

How much time do you need to make a photo show?
Please ask us. As a guide two or three weeks prior to your celebration is great because we can consult while your photoshow is being created. For a funeral we like to have your photos 36hours before the service.
